On the Guatemalan Mexican border is nestled the municipality of Bella Vista; a coffee growing community much like any other with producing families typically owning no more than five acres.
What sets Bella Vista apart is exporter Rosalba Cifuentes Tovia, who was raised in the same coffee community and has dedicated her life's work to helping the producers earn a better price for their coffee. Through her efforts, the producers earn higher prices which they reinvest in better agricultural practices that will improve their livelihoods.
This coffee blew us away on the cupping table. Reminiscent of last year's offering, this year's shines with the same chocolatey body and apple acidity, but this lot seemed that much brighter with a crisper more acidic finish. Coupled with being juicier and showing some citrus tones, this was a quick purchase for the team.
We are excited to share these producers' lot for a second year; and know it will be an instant classic.
